About Thoughtfully Engrained

Hi! I’m Rachel, the artist and owner behind Thoughtfully Engrained. I’m a 25 year-old midwest girl with a Bachelors degree in piano, and a love for creating! Whether it’s making new recipes in my kitchen, watercoloring, planting in my garden, or building a new piece of furniture with my husband, Josh, for our home; my hands are always busy and my head is always full of ideas.

Creating custom gifts has been important to me for as long as I can remember. In 2017, I started wood-burning and used this creative outlet to give unique and custom gifts to my family and friends. The timelessness, sustainability and versatility of wood provided me with the perfect canvas I didn’t know I needed. In 2020, Thoughtfully Engrained was started to bring those same gift ideas to you!

The majority of wood I work with comes from local craft stores, but I also use reclaimed wood from thrift stores and friends and family. Always learning and adapting, I love to work with my customers to create the perfect piece for their need. Monogrammed signs, coaster sets, charcuterie boards, bottle openers, matching games, maps etc…the possibilities are endless!
